Pat Hudson
British economic historian, emerita at Cardiff University. Research program centered on regional industrialization (particularly the West Riding of Yorkshire and the woollen industry), industrial finance, and women’s labour in the British Industrial Revolution. The Industrial Revolution (1992) is her synthetic textbook-length account; The Genesis of Industrial Capital (1986) is the foundational work on industrial finance and credit in the West Riding. With Maxine Berg, co-author of the 1992 Rehabilitating the Industrial Revolution — the canonical response to the Crafts-Harley quantitative gradualism.
